ICAR-CMFRI Announces Walk-in Interview for YP-II, YP-I, and Office Assistant Positions
Kochi, 24 January 2025 – The ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR-CMFRI), Kochi, has announced an offline walk-in interview scheduled for 18 March 2025, at 10:00 AM for the recruitment of Young Professional-II (YP-II), Young Professional-I (YP-I), and Office Assistant (OA) positions under the second phase of the project “National Innovations on Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA).”
Available Positions and Eligibility
1. Young Professional-II (YP-II)
- Number of Vacancies: 2
- Essential Qualifications:
- Postgraduate degree in Fisheries Science, Marine Science, Environmental Science, Agricultural Statistics, Statistics, or Geoinformatics.
- Desirable Experience:
- Research experience in climate change, fishery data analysis, statistical modeling, or oceanographic sampling.
- Handling oceanographic equipment, marine plankton identification, and water/sediment quality analysis.
- Scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Nature of Work:
- Conducting fishery and environmental data analysis, laboratory and field experiments, and marine plankton sampling.
- Compilation and statistical analysis of data.
- Duration: Contractual basis for one year or until project completion.
- Age Limit: 21 to 45 years (relaxation as per government rules).
- Emoluments: ₹42,000 per month (consolidated).
- Location: ICAR-CMFRI, Kochi.
2. Young Professional-I (YP-I)
- Number of Vacancies: 2 (One exclusively for Lakshadweep center).
- Essential Qualifications:
- Graduate/Diploma in Fisheries Science, Zoology, Botany, Physics, or Mathematics.
- Desirable Experience:
- Knowledge in ecological principles, environmental analysis, GIS, Geoinformatics, or mariculture (seaweed).
- Nature of Work:
- Environmental data collection and analysis, laboratory and field experiments.
- Duration: Contractual basis for one year or until project completion.
- Age Limit: 21 to 45 years (relaxation as per government rules).
- Emoluments: ₹30,000 per month (consolidated).
- Location: One position at ICAR-CMFRI, Kochi, and one at Lakshadweep.
3. Office Assistant (OA)
- Number of Vacancies: 2
- Essential Qualifications:
- Graduate/Diploma holder.
- Desirable Experience:
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Work experience in a government or private office.
- Diploma in Commercial Practice.
- Nature of Work:
- Upkeep of office files, MS Office-related tasks, and data entry.
- Duration: Contractual basis for one year or until project completion.
- Age Limit: Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women (relaxation as per government rules).
- Emoluments: ₹15,000 per month (consolidated).
- Location: ICAR-CMFRI, Kochi.

Important Guidelines
- Candidates must provide scanned copies of all original certificates (from matriculation onwards) by 6 March 2025. Without these, they will not be allowed to attend the interview.
- A valid ID proof must be presented at the time of the interview.
- Concealing facts or canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
- The competent authority reserves the right to terminate the appointment at any time without providing a reason.
- No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
- Candidates who have relatives working at ICAR-CMFRI must declare the relationship in Annexure-II before the interview date.
- Candidates must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current employer if applicable.
- The final decision regarding selection will be made by the Director, ICAR-CMFRI.
- Candidates must provide a conversion formula if their academic marks are in CGPA/OGPA format.
